Trying to figure out which one to buy. This unit will be used mainly on my kayak. Any pro and cons, or different ways to go.

Humminbird Helix 5 or 7 series is the way to go. I am going with the Helix 7 SI/GPS on my kayak....

Main difference between the two is the Chirp sonar capability. Here are some of the benefits of Chirp. Both will do gps, sonar and downscan. You can find the Elite 4 Chirp with Navionics + card for around $300
