I know this will seem like a very simple problem but for me and the local boat dealership, it has not been so. I cannot get the TM directional indicator to stay lined up with the motor itself. It has been adjusted, readjusted, adjusted and readjusted to the point I am about ready to use it for a brush pile weight.
The gears in the head appear to be in good shape and the push-pull cables are in line so I do not have a clue what the problem is. I can adjust it and it will line up correctly with the motor but with in 5 minutes of use, indicator & motor are out of alignment.

Can anyone give me a solution to the problem? Thanks

The directional indicator on my older model MG Tour would skip gear teeth and point in the wrong direction. The design used a flimsy metal strip to hold the gear works in place. About all you can do is adjust the gear lash to minimum and tighten down on the screw holding the gear.

Yes I had that issue with the L shaped bracket. I would give it a tap with a hammer to get it back in shape then put it back on and go for several months then I'd do it again.

Well, the TM made it thru a day of fishing without messing up after I adjusted according to your advice. Daniel
