Anyone have electric brakes on their boat trailer? What brand and how are they?

Most boat trailer brakes are hydraulic "surge" brakes. I have never seen electric brakes on a boat trailer.

I asked a trailer repair shop about this once, they said "water & electricity don't work well together".

I used electric brakes on a boat trailer for about 10 years.

Mine were add-ons from Champion Trailer.

Thanks for the input...having galvanized backings with stainless steel springs and parts...brakes on two axles with controller in truck for less than cost of parts to put surge on one axle!

At 39.00 a backing plate I have just been using the steel ones it is going to cost more for magnets and shoes than a complete plate when it comes time to replace
