I am heading to the Colorado river this weekend to hopefully check another species off the list. Planning on throwing poppers early and late and clousers / woolys during the day.

Any advice on the river would be helpful.

Thanks

What section are you floating? What sort of watercraft?

There's no real big secrets, target deep water and structure near the bank and hammer away. White poppers always seem to work well for me in summer regardless of the time of day. Last time I was out I caught a 3lb white bass in deep water, so if you get bored, fish deep with craw patterns / clousers. You never know what you're going to catch.
