I think I have all the events listed for Texas in 2018 - so far. Are there any more anyone knows about?

TroutFest 2018
February 16-18, 2018

Texas Freshwater Fisheries – Fly Fish Texas
February 24, 2018

Trinity River Water District – Flyfest 2018
March 10, 2018

Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Expo
March 10-11, 2018

Ladyfish 2018 Women’s Fly Fishing Festival

March 24, 2018

I have the story with more information here - Texas Fly Fishing Events 2018 .I am putting together the tournament list - to publish separately - soon as well. Now that we've killed the word "conclave," maybe it's time to set our collective sites on the word "festival?"

Sad that two of the five events are on the same day. But I guess at least it is better than last year when three events were all on the same day.

I know there are a few members on this board that are also members of the Fiberglass Flyrodders board or the Ultralight Flyfishing board. I am on both and am organizing a Hill Country Gathering for May 18-20, 2018. Meeting at the city park in Mason, TX. Will be fishing the Llano, San Saba, and possibly a few other spots. If you are interested, all the information is available on either of those boards. So far we have about 10-11 people who have already made reservations or are interested in coming. You don't have to be a member of either of these boards to come join us. Who knows, if you're not already into glass rods or ultralight rods, you might change your mind.

Eisenhower State Park, 50 Park Road 20, Denison, TX

Focus is on Fly Tying.

I know there are at least 2 Largemouth Bass tournaments, but to the OP's will be covered seperately.

That Red River Rendezvous has been around awhile!??! How long now? At least you keep that "Rendezvous" name instead of the overused and sometimes inaccurate "festival." If we miss your event somehow, just poke me on it.

Ran that announcement today! Wish I had weekends off, but then I wouldn't have the weekdays off!

Yep, it's been around for a fairly long time, about 13 years or so. It's been using the "Red River Rendezvous" name for about 6 years and prior to that it was called the "Texoma Tie In". Most years it happens at Eisenhower state park, but it has also been held at Bonham state park and one year it was up at Beaver's Bend state park.

It's a good excuse to dust off your vise and to come out and tie some flies each January. smile
