Hello Everyone, with the holidays coming up, I wanted to send an early invitation to come join us at the January Dallas Fly Fishers meeting on January 8. We will be talking about fly casting at this months meeting.

Please note: This meeting will be delayed one week due to the New Years Holiday.

The January topic will be Using Video to become a Better Fly Caster by Rex Walker. We will use video to discuss different casting techniques, strengths of various casting styles, and well discuss some casting faults. Using video allows us to slow down the action and to even freeze-frame individual elements of a fly cast. The goal of this presentation is to offer some tips to help you improve your casting to allow you to be more efficient when you are on the water fishing. We will have something for all casting skill levels.

Prior to the main meeting, Rex will discuss fly tying with foam and demonstrate several fishing patterns. Most of them are guide developed patterns that are easy to tie, durable, and most important, they catch fish. If you have never tied with foam, then you are missing out on a very versatile material.

Rex has been DFFs fly casting instructor for several years and he has been helping people learn to cast for over 10 years. He is an Fly Fishers International certified casting instructor and a member of TFO Rods pro staff. When it is time to fish, you are most likely to find him in a boat on Lake Texoma chasing whatever will bite.

The Dallas Fly Fishers meeting at the Dallas Wyndham near the intersection of highways 75 and 635. This months meeting will be on January 8 with the main meeting starting at 7:00 pm.
