I'm going to be visiting the in-laws for Thanksgiving. We'll be in Crandall which seems to be the one place in the metroxplex most void of fishing nearby.

I'm new to fly fishing and have a 5wt. I've only caught a few small perch so I'm just looking to catch anything, bass, panfish, carp to get a little more experience and comfort. I've been searching creeks on google earth but don't know what access and fishing is like on the ground. Any tips or locations to just catch something? You can PM me your honey holes, I promise won't be there often and I won't tell anyone wink.

There is a sleepy little golf course right off the highway. Take the guys some donuts or beer and ask to fish. Plenty of little ponds you could wet a fly.
