For various reasons* I've been following the fire sales at Gander Mountain. Fly fishing stuff is now 50% off at all Houston stores, but the one on 45 North (which was only down to 30% last I checked). I THINK this applies to fly rod/reel combos as well, but I haven't checked. If it does, the GM at 290 and 1960 in Houston has several Redington 4-piece Path combos and 2 piece Crosswater combos. That'd be a $180 or $110 combo at either 30% or 50% off. All 9', mostly 8wt, with a few 4-5wt. In case anyone is interested. I can wander by the 290 store and confirm the discount amount if someone really needs to know.

*Taking a vacation to northern New Mexico and staying by a trout river a few days. That plus the fire sale sounded like an excuse to try fly fishing, but I've decided to start with a tenkara rod instead. Which I'm now whipping around in my backyard trying to get a feel for loading the rod and throwing a decent loop.
