Knuckles and I hit the Brazos River at the Hwy 16 bridge around 11:00 AM and went down river a total of 1 river mile in the kayaks; managed a couple nice LMB. There were some yahoos taking target practice a little further down river, so we didn't venture down any further in fear of cross fire or stray rounds, but it got us in the first big pool from the bridge. We forgot our drag chains, they were safe and dry in the Jeep, lol, so the wind was a bear and hard to stay in position. Fishing a size 2 gray / white clouser. Hope to get back down in this section again soon with a drag chain before we have to haul kayaks over the rocks!

Thank you sir, he wasn't no striper but he put up a nice fight. At least we were targeting LMB, so at least that worked, lol. It sounded like there may have been some good fish up river from the bridge this past weekend. We hadn't ever gone down river, so we thought we would change things up a little. It was a great weekend to get out and enjoy the weather that's for sure!

Awesome fish . What is that red tint color running the length of the fish just above your fingers tips ?

I had put a slight filter on the image before posting, looks like a shadow kind of in the original picture. Don't have a great answer. Either it's a shadow of some kind or we have a new north Texas species, Red Stripe LMB! smile

Nice Fish! I haven't fished south of the bridge but next time I may head south instead of going toward the dam. There were a lot of large stripers but not may biting. The two I posted pictures of last Friday were the only two we could get to respond to our closures. Hopefully you will have some more videos for us. Enjoy your fishing stories almost as much as I enjoy going fishing myself.

Good morning Rick, if you would like some G2 on that stretch let me know; more than happy to share. I saw your pictures, very nice stripers my friend. Thinking Knuckles and I will be up towards the dam weekend after next; fishing the Paluxy this weekend after a meeting with the lodge for the Reel Recovery retreat this April.

You know, I apologize that we haven't got a video out for some time now. Hopefully we will be able to make something happen over next couple of weeks! You have humbled me; very happy you enjoy the videos and stories....just keeping it real. smile We should have some really cool stuff before too long to create a trailer and an awesome video intro, so stay tuned.

Don't know if you saw our post on Angler's Dream Fly Shop, if you get a chance check it out Rick!
