Is Dallas Fly Fishers the only fly fishing club in Dallas? Has anyone here attended meetings or joined the club? What has your experience been? What is the age range of the club? There seem to be a hand full of younger 40 and below fly fisherman in Dallas.

There's also Red River and Fort Worth. I've not been in a few years so can't speak to demographics.
But if you wanna network and go fishing, they're great for that; as of my experience anyway.

Yes, I am a member of both Dallas and Red River clubs. I am also a casting instructor for the DFF, and I'm at most meetings. The youngest person that regularly attends is about 13 and there are some folks that are over 90.

There is a wide range of ages in the DFF. However, it seems that most people become active in FF'ing clubs at about the "empty nest" stage of life, so most active members tend to be older. But younger fly fishers are out there and they are actively fishing.

The next DFF meeting will be the first Monday in February and the speaker will be AK Best. This will be a good meeting, AK is a fly tying legend.

I went to one DFF meeting and they had so many committees that I figured they would try to put me to work. Haven't been back since.
