I make it to Florida(west Palm Springs ) for a training class. I was getting paid to come and shoot guns, how to make that any better; bring my rods! I had been more excited about the fish I was gonna catch in the surf than I was the class. So I get here buy the two license salt and fresh water. First day something breaks my line, second day hit fly shop 30lbs tippet I'm set. I hit the beach whoohoooo! It was the worst butt kicking I have ever had. But I don't give up. Head to canals only to be hunted by So that causes me to run away and I break my BVK rod. Yup broken. So far Ive caught zero fish in Florida. Rod $200 broken rod fleeing from giant lizard priceless!

Priceless indeed! Looks like you went for the boring old "caught some fish" story but came away with the far more valuable "got schooled and gator-chased" which is infinitely more interesting in my opinion. Be sure to share that at the TFO warehouse when you drop by to get your free new replacement rod. Ought to get some mileage out of it thanks for sharing
