one more try before I go next week for a week. Any info on how the fishing is there. I know it is not the best place to go but the wife chose this year and next year is my choice.

Can rent a kayak or bank fish at Inn of the Gods and outside of that, there isn't a whole lot else water-wise (maybe a public stream or two or some paid fish ponds) I've seen. But it's been some Dry years up there!

Thanks Cadd. About what expected. Been a couple of years since we have been there and it was the same then. I know of a couple of holes I can pull a few out of but that is it. At least it beats working for a week.

spacejunkie,

Will be curious what you find in Ruidosa. We will be going in August or September.
We will be staying at Ruidosa Lodge Cabins.

one If the streams that is the most fun to fish around that area is Carrizo creek. It holds rainbows, Brook, and some browns. Ive caught fish right in front of Fun Trackers and id fish from fun trackers to reservation. Not a very big stream but trust me there are some 12-15 inch fish in the deeper pools and not a bunch of room to land fly. Also another great stream is a stream on the way up to Ski Apache, easy to fly fish and I remember a small dam on the way up to the Ski resort. I would recommend fishing downstream of small dam on right, some pools can have some pretty big rainbows. This stream I cant remeber the name of but it was a pretty easy stream to fish. All best and send some pics👍.

Dont bother with Grindstone Stables, all stocked and is heavily fished, other streams are never even touched.
