I noticed that bow season for deer has begun, and that got me to thinking. Have you ever considered that bass hunting and deer hunting have a lot in common. If you know how to hunt one, you pretty much know how to hunt the other. Consider:
Bass and deer have bedding areas where they rest between feeding times.
Feeding times are largely driven by sun and moon cycles, weather and seasons.
Both have preferred feeding areas that they travel to from their bedding areas.
Both follow habitual trails between bedding and feeding areas.
Those trails tend to follow terrain and cover.
If you follow their trails you'll eventually find them, somewhere on the trail or in the bedding or feeding area.
If a deer or a bass has to cross an open area, such as a pasture or a flat, and there is a tree line, or a contour like a creek through that open area, that's the path they will take.
Early morning and late evening are the best times, in general, to find deer or bass on the move.
Mid-day, in general, is the best time to find them bedded down.
They both generally actively feed at night with some cross over into the early and late daylight hours.
They both love cover and will stay within cover for as long and as much as possible.
See what I mean?

Have to add mid day best time for a true giant when love is in the air for both I Fish midday usually when I'm bow hunting early in the season and have manage some really nice bass with the cooling weather. But you are definitely right on patterning them both have the same habits driven wildly by lunar and weather patterns. Now if I could only not find pictures of people on my trail camera by my bow stand this year I'll be OK lol. Good stuff Lloyd
