Howdy everyone!

Here is a video from our recent kayak fly fishing trip on the Brazos River. Okay, Knuckles went to the dark side and fished conventional. We considered this to be a recon mission given that we really haven't taken the kayaks on this stretch of the Brazos; thinking we have found some cool places for later this fall. Time will tell. Anyway, hope you enjoy the video and please subscribe if you like what you are seeing.

Have a great remainder of the weekend.

So there I was just minding my own business fly fishing at the Hwy 16 bridge yesterday morning when I looked up and saw two guys launching kayaks. My first thought was, those guys look familiar. As they began to head north to do battle with the river's striper/sand bass hordes I realized that it had to be FishyB and Bassknuckles. Needless to say I was a bit star-struck. My second thought was, I might as well give up since there won't be any fish left for me to catch. Therefore, I broke my fly rod over my knee and headed downstream to pout. Like good celebrities should, later that day they stopped and talked to me and cheered me up.
Ok. Actually I did recognize them but the hordes they would have battled upstream were other people fly fishing (I've never seen so many people on the river) and my rod broke at a previous repair site while I was casting it. Fortunately I had a backup ultralight spinning combo that I used to catch several small sandbass and few lmb.

Good video and nice meeting y'all yesterday. Tight lines...

Looks like fun. I've been wanting to get up there with my son and our kayaks, but we haven't made it yet.

Thank you guys!

FWBanger - It was a real pleasure getting to know you; thoroughly enjoyed being able to put a face with a name and swapping some stories. Personally that's what it is all about my friend; look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

WoollyBugger - Definitely take your son and go! The river is back to it's lazy summer trickle and a little lower than what we have experienced this year. We had to get out and walk a little in the first one mile stretch below the bridge when coming back, but had no problem going down river.

Tight lines guys!

Looks like a lot of fun! I've been catching a ton of sand bass lately. They are all small and I've have some buddies ask me why I want to "fool with those little ones" but catching any size sandie in a fly rod, particularly on a popper, is a blast. Same goes for stripers, bluegills and even black bass.
Glad to see Knuckles back in the straw hat.

Capt. Mac - I told Knuckles he'd better wear his straw hat; that you would be looking to see if he was wearing it.
