Anyone have some suggestions for fishing in the area? I will be there a few days next weekend. Willing to drive a little bit.
Any suggestions or info welcome but I really want to hike up to an alpine lake one day. And try to mouse action one evening/night if anyone has experience with either of those. Thanks!

Westxag, My wife and I were celebrating 20 years of marriage on at the end of May, and so we wanted to do something nice. Our trip began at a resort in Breckenridge with fishing in mind ( my wife fly fishes too). The first couple of days we fished the Blue with minimal success and hit the upper portions of the Middle South Platte near Alma. Lots of Brookies and a few browns and bows. Flies used Purple midges under hoppers or klinkhammers. I also tied on some double dries with Griffiths gnats. Day 3 Tomahawk runoff was beginning but water was in great shape. same rigs as previously mentioned but lots of fish 20+ day.
When my brother in law joined us mid week I helped teach him a few things at some beaver ponds near Alma. He's fly fished before but with zero results- this time he caught a few fish. now he wants to go to Broken Bow in OK to chase trout again.
Our last and best day in Colorado before heading to New Mexico was on the Dream Stream below Spinney Res. Lots of spooky fish- best to hike a ways where the pressure is lower, so my wife and I headed upstream towards the dam. bows and browns. I took one nice 18" bow on a parachute adams. One day I will return to this place to fish-it's amazing. If you like fishing dries- you'll find yourself in the prefect place for it. Let me know if you have any other questions or thoughts.
Good luck

The Blue River in town all the way along Hwy 9 is great. Some good public access areas of 9 where you an get into some really good water. Ten Mile Creek is close but is small pocket water fishing, good numbers but not much for size. If you want a little more dive hit the Colorado up between Kremmling and Parshall. The Blue between Frsico and Breck can be good too.
Strip, strip....set

Right in Breck the 'Steps' are good on the Blue River, stocked pretty heavily. The Blue in Silverthorne can be hit and miss for much bigger fish - 18" and above rainbows. The upper Arkansas in Leadville (30 minutes or so) is fun meadow fishing for Browns and Rainbows.
No clue on alpine lakes..... but there are quite a few just southwest of Breck.
