I love my bvk 6wt. It's my rod I grab first most times going fishing. It does have its issues.... Well today may have been my fault. Threw homemade rope fly for Gar today ( maybe little big for rod). Gar came out of brush grabbed it before I was ready, sooo I tried to keep him out of bush by pulling sideway back rod flat! It was about that time when OOOOH $&@" ran through my head before I could get the tip up BOOOOOM! Broke in 3 places. exploding. SECOND time this rod has broken. I be making trip to Dallas Monday. I am a TFO LIFE CUSTOMER.

I haven't broke my 8wt BVK yet. Not my kayak Rod, the BVK is my wading Rod. No big drama on the BVK, just slot reds, drum, flounder, trout, and a smack or two. I've got 4 TFO rods, my 6-8 wt. Minimag sees the most action.

I've got a 7wt BVK that's my usual flats rod. I've had it for long enough that one of the snake guides rusted off, but she still casts alright so I keep hacking away.
Fly rods break sometimes, that's just how it goes. I had an Orvis Helios 1 shatter in my hands over the weekend after coming tight on a rock at the jetties. Normal pressure, wasn't high-sticking, just came tight and - Pop! - extra pieces everywhere.
There's a reason that reputable rod makers stay in the game by offering warranties. We go through more rods than any other subcategory of fishermen, I would guess.

Love TFO. REPLACED rod without question. They are great people and great customer service.
