Brazos below Whitney has been running full tilt now for a couple of weeks. The lake is still 6' above normal pool so I expect at least another week of high release. The release has dropped from 20k to 18k cfs, but the difference isn't noticeable.
This morning when leaving the house (pitch dark, 4am) I heard a splash in the river that sounded like a bowling ball dropped from an airplane. I think maybe a whale has come up from the gulf... :-)

Time to break out the 20 wt and the 80/0 hooks with the whole chickens tied on them. 18k sounds fast enough to water ski on. Kirk

Tie a rope to the dam and jump on the skis, It would probably work.

Lake Whitney level is nearing normal pool. The release rate has decreased significantly. As of this morning the river is still too high for wade fishing and iffy for kayaking. It's just possible that this weekend might see a flow rate that is fishable. Hope so.
