Question: it may be challenging but anyone have tips or thoughts on fall / winter carp fishing (fly fishing). I read middle of day, near creeks, near warm water but is there anything else. To me they slow down eating but they have to eat?
Just trying to see what else to fish besides having to fish traditional cold fish. I was in west rowlett creek sat and caught some small sunfish and bass. (After the golf course people yelled)

200 results VS. 0 results here? Maybe time to look at those other 199 results. All I can say is the further south you go the warmer it is here in Texas. We behave differently in winter just like carp do. I think the latest I've ever caught one in one of my regular spots is right around this date, and when I say "one," I mean one. Time for salt!

I've never done any winter time carp fishing but I have caught them in early spring ( late February and early March). On a calm day with plenty of sunshine you can find them on the flats - and maybe even in the winter(?) The problem is that the water is so off color that they are hard to see and, I think, it's even harder for them to see a fly. And, if you do hook one they are so lethargic that you can just about wade over and pick them up without much of a fight. Just my experience.
