Yamadoggy I think is close and yes most likely in a river looks like a spot lmb cross you can see the faint stripes on the belly as well as markings on the back and checks. It happens just not to often I know they call the smb lmb cross a mean mouth idk on the jargon for that.

small mouth X spot. they share a lot of the same back and cheek marks. They also share those traits of the shoal, Suwanee,and redeye bass as well as one I missed I think. Really neat fish glad you got some good pics.

Also could just very well be a spot that conected the dots lol. that is the more of the normal pattern trait for spots.

It could be a hybrid? Lots of Spots in that portion as well...

Interesting, Fitz posted catching one just like this in the Bluegill section. Maybe it has to do with the coloring of river bass this time of year.

While we are on the subject, my buddy Nate ( Tree bass catcher ) caught an interesting fish the other day at Roberts. It was a strange yellowish green color with no markings at all.
