Well I finally got to break in the drag on my Allen reel this weekend when I hooked into this dude Also managed to catch my first Smallie The river below the dam is alive and between my buddies and I we have caught hundreds of fish the past few weeks. All of the fish look healthy and the steady flow coming from the Dam seems to be doing the river a whole world of good. I look forward to getting back out there this next weekend. The one thing I'm still shooting to land is a sizeable black bass. Here are a couple other pics of some of the fish my buddies have caught

Nice! Smallie looks more like a Spot.
Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some go fishing and think about God.

Cob I think you are right man. Didn't really notice until I began looking at the picture more. Thanks for pointing this out.

Hey, I met your buddy out at PK a couple of weekends ago, we were catching some small bass and a few drum. He gave me one of the clousers you tied, and we had a blast (minus the rain!) Glad to see you guys landing some nice fish!

That's an awesome haul!
I was down the river from you guys on Saturday morning, south of 16, but it looks like I should have tried upstream too. Whites, spotted bass, LM, and a small striper for me, but nothing really of size.
What was working for you? A gray/white wiggle minnow stripped fast gave me a bite every other cast early, but that shut down around 9 and then I went to a white deceiver.

What was working for you? A gray/white wiggle minnow stripped fast gave me a bite every other cast early, but that shut down around 9 and then I went to a white deceiver. Early morning we were throwing a popper dropper pattern with anything that would float for the popper (it was working more as something just to draw attention, didn't catch but maybe 3 fish on it) and anything chartreuse for a dropper. I had most of my luck on a size 4 chartreuse wooley bugger with a medium cone head to get the fly down a bit. After that slowed down we took off the popper and tied on a chartreuse wooley bugger looking fly my buddy ties with a medium conehead and a lot of ice dubbing in the body to create some flash. This is when we caught the bigger stripers by chunking the flies into the deep as far as we could (my 5 wt. made this a bit of a challenge with a bigger heavier fly and my arm felt like it was going to fall off by the end of the day)let the fly sink for a while to get down and then stripped it in with long quick strips. This of course didn't produce as many fish but we caught a few nice stripers in doing so. We should meet up out there sometime. I have always done better between the 16 bridge and the dam. Haven't fished below the dam since early spring.
