Fishing Fort Lauderdale with Topshotfishing and Capt. Zsak

Dawn and Matthew Greco, along with their twin boys, Matt and Jonathan, ages 12, from Connecticut chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This was their 2nd charter with us once with Captain David Zsak and this one with Captain Tom Zsak. Winds were out of the east at 15 mph, seas running 3-5 ft., temperatures in the mid 80s.

With one Hammerhead Shark under their belt from their first charter with us, the pressure was on to produce another Shark, since this was the boys request.

Twenty minutes after leaving the Bahia Mar marina lines were in 175 ft. of water north of the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale. In this area, there are three different wrecks located close to one another. I decided to put one kite out and two Shark baits out one on the surface and one on the bottom. As the twins sat in the cockpit calling the fish here fishy, fishy and telling their war stories from last years charter, the bottom rod bent over, and the tug of war began. Matt was the first to hop into the fighting chair and then, fifteen minutes later, the relief pitcher, Jonathan, came in to take over. This relief happened twice. As I looked down, I could not tell who was who and what name to call to cheer them on. Finally, one of the boys reeled the Shark close enough for our mate, Dave, to grab a hold of the leader. A Bull Shark, estimated weight between 250-275 lbs, was reward to both boys. The parents took a video of the catch, and the Shark was released to fight again.

We reset again and this time had an Anaconda (Smoker) skyrocket out of the water on the long kite bait. Dawn was our angler, brought the fish to the side of the boat and Dave gaffed the Kingfish weighing 23 lbs. into the boat.

It was time to head back to the Bahia Mar Dock, located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. The family enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock in the a/c salon. Mission accomplished!!!! See you next year!!!!
