This past week our Galveston Fishing Charters caught a vast variety of fish. Speckled Trout, Flounder, Red Fish, Bay Snapper, Black Drum, Popmano, Gulf Trout, Stingrays, and more! We have fished the Galveston Jetties, West Galveston Bay, back lakes and bayous, and the beachfront. Water temps have increased and has busted the 70 degree mark this week, and we are seeing signs of many species moving into these areas. Bait fish is abundunt and small fry are schooling up in areas, and this means excellent fishing for our very near future.

The Galveston Jetties continue to be the top producer of full limits of Bay Snapper (Sheepshead), as well as nice catches of black drum, redfish, speckled trout, Gulf Trout, and pompano. Live shrimp (when available) has been the number one bait to trick these tasty fish. Tidal movements and water clarity is a factor, and fishing is best at the beginning and end of tides.

The Back lakes and marshes provide a great refuge for high winds that we can experience during the months of March and April. We are catching large amounts of red fish in these areas. These bayous and back lakes are home for many young redfish that are just under two years old. We are having lots of action in these areas, with catches of over 50 fish very common in a 5 hour charter. Sea sickness is never an issue on this trip, and provides allot of Galveston fish catching action for kids.

We have some open days for March and April if you are looking to get out on Galveston Bay and catch some fish with our Galveston Family Friendly Fishing Guides.
