Galveston Fishing Reports

Well, it has been a typical April here on Galveston Bay. This past week we had some very high winds, but we dealt with them and made the best of it for the most part. There was some good tidal movements, and some areas of clean water.... well maybe not clean but not as dirty as one might expect for the conditions we are dealt. Water temps have crept up to the lower 70s and there are lots of bait in the water. We found some redfish on some wind blown banks that had bait shoved up along the grass with no where to go.

When the winds are high we are finding refuge in the back lakes and bayous mainly targeting redfish and flounder. There are some specks mixed in as well, but mother nature is protecting them for the most part. We did have a rattlesnake try two times to board one of our boats.... second time - he lost his head. Also, this is the second time in the last two weeks that we have caught a fingerling snook in a cast net.... or what sure looks to be a snook to us. I am not sure what is going on with that - but it could be good for our future.

Our Galveston Summer Kids Fishing Camps are booking now, and the dates have been set. We are having more this year due to overwhelming response, and we hope to introduce many youngsters to the great sport of fishing once again this year. More information can be found here. Feel free to give me a call as well if you have any questions.

Few men ever reach, in any one direction, the limits of their possibilities. As in commerce, so here, the relation of supply to demand rules. Our mechanical and intellectual forces increase or decrease according to the demands made upon them. He who uses most will have most to use.
