Recently (two weeks ago), I was persuaded into fishing a lake in the DFW area that I had never fished. I had heard many negative opinions about the lake and for that reason I stayed away from it. Well it turned out to be a decent lake. With that thought, I realized that within the recent years I had been exposed to several new lakes I always avoided and how I was very surprised to what I found. By the way the lakes were, Marine Creek, Bonham, Moss and last Lake Worth. So the question is how many local lakes (within 3 hours of DFW) have you fished and which one impressed you the first time you fished it.

For me
List of lakes in Texas - Amon G. Carter, Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain, Ray Hubbard, Bachman, Ray Roberts, Grapevine, Benbrook, Lewisville, Bonham, Texoma, Marine Creek, Moss, Nocona, Worth, Palestine, Lake of the Pines, Caddo, Graham, Arrowhead, Hubbard Creek, Buffalo Creek, Kemp
Kickapoo, Possum Kingdom, Wichita
List of lakes in Oklahoma - Grand Lake o' the Cherokees, Waurika Lake, Lake Murray, Lake Ellsworth
Lake Lawtonka, Elmer Thomas Lake

I have fished (for bass anyway) just four... Benbrook(many times), EM (many times), Lake Worth (too many times) and Arlington lake (once). I have been out to Lewisville and Twok for catfish, but that is about it. that said I have not been at it long. For bass, Worth is my favorite but only because I can actually catch them there.. as long as it is not a tournament lol
