can you catch tilapia this time of year at squaw creek,if so what is the best method,grandsons wants to go.

I don't know how you can't catch some... there are literally millions and millions of them, in Squaw. Check the warmest water coves, on the lower end north creeks like Angler's Choice or Millionaire Creeks, also around the Spillway area, by the dam.

Most people fish for them with basically a heavy drop-shot rig. 1/2oz weight(or larger) with a 1/0 hook(circle hook good choice) attached about one foot off the bottom baited with earthworms. Worms are the staple tilapia bait only topped by a cast net! laugh
