What is the deal with this body of water? It is always bursting at the seams. Today it is almost 11 feet high.

Yep, both these lake have a very "efficient" water sheds. Never seen lakes that fill(over fill) as fast as these.

According to my Dad, the engineers calculated it would take a long time to fill Mayse when it got finished. Also according to him it took less than a week. We had between 13 and 18 inches of rain around Mayse and I got 16 inches in Enloe in 10 days. The last rain was nearly 4 inches.

I grew up going to East Texas every Summer and Winter. Went fishing with my Papaw at least 10 times in 2 weeks usually and it was normally to Pat Mayse. That lake was up more than I have seen even 30 something years ago (yes I am older). Sometimes they would have to close a lot of the boat ramps because you couldn't even get to them unless you were already in the boat. It was crazy to see how high that lake got sometimes.

When I was growing up we went there for crappie fishing because my grandfather was past his bass fishing days. We used to limit by noon or 1 everyday we went (now granted some days that limit was lower than others, but we still caught a lot of fish)
The last time I went there about 3-4 years ago I caught plenty of bass, but with that said they were mostly smaller bass. Never did catch one over 2 that I can remember. It might be different now, but that was what I saw from when I went.

Seems like I remember catching a few hybrids maybe 20 years ago - are they still stocking them or am I just mistaken?

Mayse is really high right now. The lake doesn't fluctuate much but we got like 14 inches of rain over a week.
