For the last 2 weekends I have used the ramp on the east side of what was once Robertson park. I guess once Bayside won their lawsuit with the previous marina owner and took over the marina they made the ramp private. They promised to leave one open when they bought the property from Rowlett but they did not tell us it was going to be the worse one with limited parking and no place to beach or dock. Also it is totally exposed to a south wind. Hubbard did not have enough public ramps to begin with. I realized driving in to the ramp on Saturday looking at all the signage what was going on. I launched anyways. I figured I would come back to a note on my windshield but did not. Not sure they are checking for memeberships yet.

How much did it cost to launch?

right now it is free. I think it is going to be members only. Looks like they are putting in gate openers that will have codes. Right now you can probably get away with using the ramp because it is slow. Not sure if anyone is patrolling. The have in manned mobile security out there but who knows if active. Last 2 times out it has just me and 1 or 2 others testing their luck. Came back to ramp last Saturday and their were a couple of trailer less vehicles in lot. All they have is some Bayside Member Only signs on the fencing. Nothing on poles at the ramp. I was going to check in to a membership but bet it higher that others.

Not nearly as bad as the residents of Rowlett when this pipe dream goes belly up and we eat the costs due to tax incentives given to the developer and lost tax revenue in my opinion.

I went one Saturday morning and they had a person posted at the gate. They asked if I was a member and I said No.

They said it was $75.00 a month for membership, which included dry storage.

I hooked'em over to the Rockwall ramp. Which is the only descend public ramp on the lake now.

I haven't been back over there for months now. But you bet I will be fishing the hell out of Bayside marina when I do go.Let them ask if I'm a member when I'm fishing there.

I like to know what Dallas did with the money from the sale. If Rowlett paid or is Dallas floating the note.

I don't see how it can not flop. Far as I'm concerned, they already put the last nail in that coffin and permanently screwed up what used to be a semi nice resource for lots of people to use and enjoy. I been going out there since the early 70's and watched it steadily go down hill on both sides of the highway over time but even so, it was still available to use. Follow the $ as usual.

I agree. All of the boat ramps will start charging to unload. Just like toll roads. What a rip off.
