I used to go up there weekly to catch Smallmouth and Walleye. The water is super clear, so you'll need to use fluorocarbon line or a fluorocarbon leader.
As you can see from this pic of a stringer of fish I have the water is like gin.
Best baits I found were baits that looked like shad. Lots of threadfin schools in that lake that shimmer like iridescent emeralds as they pass by in the clear water.
The rapala jointed shad rap catches both smallies and walleyes:
Bomber fat free shad works as well
You have to watch out for the Hydrilla, as you'll lose your lures in that stuff.
You'll see a lot of very large Channel cats feeding on zebra mussels and will occasionally catch them on lures. Good luck!
