A buddy of mine would like to go on a river fishing/camping trip. Bank fishing only since we don't have a boat and some of the other guys don't have kayaks. Looking for something in TX, OK, or AK. Anybody know of any good fishing rivers in these areas where bank fishing is effective?
*Edit - Also we don't know how to fly fish so thinking more like bass, catfish, that sort of thing

Ouachita River Haven Resort AR is a neat little place. They have cabins, but you can also pitch tents. You could fish from the banks, or rent canoes as well. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. The water was high when we were there, but we caught plenty of catfish. In normal conditions, the river is good for smallies and bass. http://www.ouachitahaven.com/index.html

Barefoot fish camp in Bend, TX on the Colorado River. It's beautiful and tons of bank fishing. You can fish for catfish and sandies. http://www.centex.net/~barefoot/

Sulpher springs fishing camp in bend Tx also on Colorado River lots of bank fishing. They have cabins, swimming pool that is spring fed. The river has lots of places to wade fish or run trotlines without a boat.
