Got to thinking on a drive today that over the last year I have been on some great fishing trips. It's been a banner year.

May - ride in the TTBC at fork with Wes Strader and Shin Fukae.

June - Company tournament in Rockport. Fished Baffin for the first time. Guided. Limits of trout both days. Weather was great.

Went to Alaska in July. River trip on Kenai for Salmon wasn't what I expected. Snagging them shoulder to shoulder with others. Next time I would take a float trip. Halibut out of Anchor Point was great. Caught some nice Halibut and the weather was spectacular. Float plane Trip to see the Bears at Brooks Falls in Katmai was bucket list stuff.

October trip to Cocodorie. Crazy weather with Pacific storm coming thru. Torrential rains and a tornado just up the road. Before and after some really solid trout and red fishing. Last day 75 trout in 1 hr 45 min.

January - guided trip at Matagorda. First time I fished that area. One decent day. The other not a keeper. Windy.

April - at the spillway off Trinity bay. Epic trout trip with biggest 5 between 23.5 and 26". Crazy amount of fish in that spillway.

May - back at the TTBC on Ray Roberts. Ride with Aaron Martens and Brent Ehler.

Late May - Epic 5 day trip to Venice, La. 600 trout for our group of 12. Solid day offshore with Paradise Outfitters. Tuna and Mahi. Only could hang for four days. I wore out.

Early June - Smallmouth at Mille Lacs in Minnesota. Caught some nice smallmouth on a great weather day. Fished from 7:30 to 5pm.

Last weekend. Magical day at Fayette County. 177 bass in 9 hours for 3 out of one boat.

This week. Headed back to Rockport and Baffin for Company tournament.

On the horizon. October trip to Cal Delta with Bobby Barrack, Frog Master.

Plenty of trips to Conroe in between. Fished the Stowaway Sunday a bunch. Won a few times.

Wow, glad you are taking some time to soak it up. Those are all great trips, I hope I get to make those at some point. I think the Matagorda and Baffin Bay trips are the first on my list of vacation fishing trips.
