Looks like a stiff south wind forecast for Saturday. I assume the main body of the lake will be rolling pretty good. Is there decent hybrid/white fishing in areas off the main body that make it worth a 90 mi. trip? The boat can handle the rough, more so than I prefer to. smile

I see a11 mph ssw wind on Saturday. As long as you can handle the motion you can fish just about anywhere on the lake at the wind level.

I haven't really gone out chasing schoolies yet this year, but I understand most of that action is uplake right now anyway. Which should help the situation with a SSW wind. I'll keep catfishing until they come down the lake some more, and we'll have a prevailing S or SE wind by then (hopefully).

A NW wind is the scourge of that lake. A 5mph NW wind will tear that lake up more than a 12-15 mph wind from just about any other direction. I guess it depends on where you fish, but where I like to fish a NW wind most often means I stay at home.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

Thanks. That's very helpful. I've been wanting to take a trip out there, so looks like a pre-sunrise departure Saturday morning to hit the water early. Maybe I'll see you out there. smile
