Hi,
New on here and well new to Texas also...looking to get back into fishing and my daughter really enjoyed it in the past. She has been begging to go for a long time and I'm itching to go myself. Looking for some tips on areas, gear etc to fish in Garland area or within 100 miles. Planning on going next weekend. Any help would be appreciated, thinking lake Ray Hubbard first but it is so large not sure where to go there.
Thanks...looking forward to posting and reading on here as well.

Ray Hubbard will be covered up with bank fisherman until after spring so scout out places beforehand.
Rowlett creek off of 66 will have a good couple of weeks of sand bass fishing real soon if not already.
Or you could look at Google Earth and fish some of the ponds that are close to you. They are flood control ponds, look for older ones not in new developments.
Minnows will get you bit if you are there at the right times.
Good luck, I think we have some of the best fishing in the country at times.

Thanks for the tips, have a lot to learn in the area but so looking forward to getting out. I get leary about the ponds near me since I realize 97% of texas is private land so.
Let me know if you ever want some company fishing, could always use some tips and company.
