Are you thinking about buying a fire safe for your expensive electronics, reels, other valuables? #11076061 09/01/15 10:44 AM

I wanted to share my experience in case any of you folks are thinking about buying a fire safe.

On New Years eve, 2011/2012, my house caught on fire and was completely destroyed. I had a Cannon Fire/Gun safe in the room next to the fire that got hot enough to melt quarters sitting on top of it. The guns inside came through the fire without a mark on them. I called Cannon the next day to see if their warranty was worth the paper it was written on. The man from Cannon asked me to send him a copy of the fire report and the serial number of my safe. That is the only phone call I made and all he asked for.
Three days later there was an eighteen wheeler backing up to my shop to deliver a brand new gun safe like the one I had. They did not charge me a penny for the safe or for shipping, and they let me keep the old safe to restore if I wanted to.

If you are looking at safes I would recommend a Cannon. In my opinion there are no other choices. When you are down, Cannon will be there to help you get back on your feet. I am proof of that.

Buy a Cannon safe.

It's good to know that there are still companies out there that stand by their products and promises. Thanks for the post. Still, I'm so very sorry for your major loss.

Most major safe companies offer the same warranty for fire and break ins.

Thanks for the information. I am in the market for a safe and didn't know about the replacement warranty.
