I will be attending a week long class at A&M the 19th thru 24th of this month. The hotel is booked up so I wont be able to keep my boat in their parking lot. Is there anyone willing to let me park my boat at their place and borrow some electricity to charge my batteries? I'm open to other options or ideas..... I just want to do some fishing in the evenings after class. Thanks

Hey, Skeeter. You might want to check the Gibbons Creek website. The lake is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Sorry for the delayed response guy's, work has gotten the best of me lately. Any ideas on my next best option? My sign in name is a little miss leading now due to my sons college tuition, the Skeeter is long gone. now Im down to a 18'44" with a 40 merc so I need to stay away from BIG water. Im good with bank fishing or bringing my boat, I just don't want to be stuck in the hotel every evening or bar hoping. Getting to old for that stuff!

Might try around the Bryan Municipal lake at the golf course for bank fishing.
Or go out to Bryan Utility Lake northwest of town. Somerville is closed. Lake Conroe?

I will check out the spots in Bryan. Conroe is farther than I plan on going. I will just be going in the evenings from 6'ish to dark'30.

There's a few ponds around town you can fish. If you are here on a weekend day you can hop in my boat. I fish Gibbons about every weekend.

Yes, Conroe for me can have some of the strangest wave action in winds.......seems waves don't make rollers and instead you top an innocent looking wave and it is like an empty swimming pool on the other side you fall off into.

Lake Bryan is not very good for bass (or much of anything else).

Lake Raven/ State Park just S of Huntsville is doable in an evening if you are ok with driving back after sunset. You will have a high 1/2 moon overhead by the 24th of July to load your boat onto the trailer. 65minute drive and you can compete for the bass with the gators on the idle, no wake lake.
