Been catching these things in the cast net for a couple years now. Havnt used them for bait, but they seem to be everywhere. Get tangled in the net bunches at a time. Never seen them before, and not sure if its a common baitfish in early stages, or game fish in early stages. Havnt caught one bigger than 3 inches, so I assume bait. Just wondering if anyone here knows, and has used them for anything. Seems like they are there for a reason. Cant find stocking on them. Fish are clear all the way through. Look like a mini tarpon. Caught in braunig, and Calaveras. Thanks guys.

The fish is a Silverside.

Family Atherinidae. There are two species in freshwater (Brook Silverside and Inland Silverside) and one in saltwater (Rough silverside).

On the Texas coast, most people call these fish "glass minnows".

Yep, those ids seem to be correct. I appreciate that guys. Been bugging me for a while, just never researched it. Are these things good for anything? Seems like they havnt been there for that long. Don't remember catching these things several years ago, now they seem to be everythwere.
