there was a topic on this a while back you might pull up. there are no walleye left in texoma. they were stocked there back in the 70's as were a lot of lakes but the water gets too hot in the summer for them to survive. they all died out. some people occasionally catch a log perch there that closely resembles a small walleye. hope this helps!

I confirm. I have caught what i thaught was a walleye in texoma, but it turns out it is a "log perch". But I did see a Southwest Outdoors report a few months ago, and Barry Stokes was catching walleye and smallies out of a lake in Oklahoma. I never caught which lake it was but it was pretty interesting.
That's handier than a pocket on a shirt.

I caught one about ten years ago in the Big Mineral arm and another one about 20 years ago in Hagermans. both were about10 inches long.

I've never seen or caught one since I've lived around the lake (1992). The older members of our bass club say that there was a small population of them in the late 70's.

I heard that there was a decent number in the Big Mineral arm at one time. Probably 20 years ago.

Most of what everyone wants to call a walleye in Texoma is a log perch. Its has been since the early 80's since I have seen a walleye coma out of texoma. My dad caught one that weighed 8pounds or so in 80 or 81 off the dam.

So in 1998 you caught a 10inch Walleye. What month? I am just curious because it could have came down from west Texas as long as it was not to hot. Next time you catch one keep it or take a picture. I would love to see them get going here but I doubt striper and walleye would get along.
