 Getting hours read on my Mercury 4 stroke

I’ve got a ‘12 mercury 60 hp 4 stroke on a boat I am selling, I would like to get the hours read. I called the local boat service dept at a dealer and was told it would be their normal hourly rate of $110. Anybody know where I can get it read for cheaper than that in dfw?

most independent mercury marine techs probably have the equipment to read it.

I was in a similar situation and decided to get a vessel view mobile unit. I got mine for around 225 off ebay. lets your phone bluetooth link to your motor you can see hours, exact rpms, fuel usage, error codes... I know it is more money, but it is pretty handy. You could always just resell it on ebay.
