They are stocked in Wheeler Branch Lake down in Glen Rose about an hour south and a bit west of Fort Worth. It's a 180 acre lake that recently made power boat fishing off limits. Now, just canoes, kayaks and maybe (?) johnboats.
I have seen several caught out there, not so much targeted, but just hooking up with one while bass fishing.
Three or four of us went out, Bert being the lead and an experienced walleye angler, in November of 2015. Bert could find them on his electronics but no one caught one.
As best I know, this is the only lake with an active population. Else, I believe you have to head up to Oklahoma to find other lakes with them.
Said to be great table fare. Hope you snag a few!!!

Been catching some on Broken Bow. Should get real good over the next couple of weeks.

Lake Murray is OK has them in good numbers. I've caught them up there fishing for small mouth.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Tpwd ... Trolling motors are permitted Correct. Trolling motors for kayaks and canoes and so on. But, not big bass boats or boats with bilge areas that can hold water. It used to be they could operate out there under tolling motor power only, but no longer. No bass boats at all. They'll turn you away at the gate. Brad

santa rosa and concho lake, new mexico Ute is nearest to the Texas Border and probably the best fishing for Walleye. Conchas, Ft Sumner, Santa Rosa in that order after Ute. Jigs with a crawler are pretty good, trolling with a spinner and worm/minnow harness. I like cranks too.

If you put a motor of any kind on a boat it has to be registered and get a TX number. If not, you are subject to a ticket. from the TPWD website
