Have a winter home at Falcon and leaving Mississippi to be near grandkids.....looking for ideas as to where to land near Charlotte....must have good fishing near....and a good place to store my boat....

My wife and I just bought 23 acres in Dobson, NC, which has Lake Hickory, Lake Norman, High rock lake and a few small other lakes within a couple hours or less. I've been told by the local forum there that those Lakes are on the decline for size but good for numbers.

In SC, I would say look at Lake Hartwell or Lake Murray if you are looking at a fishing destination residence. We almost purchased property near those but found our dream property in NC.

grew up fishing Lake Murray, I have had incredible days. the patterns all changed when the grass went away but one can still catch boat loads of bass and if you decide to go for stripers there are monsters in that lake.

my grandmothers sis lives near sutton lake NC. it is not real big, and I have not been there in a long time but last i went it was paradise for a bass fisherman
