I posted this earlier this week under the boat section but did not receive any feedback - I would like to hear opinion from some of you guys who have actually owned these boats. I'm looking at a couple of boats in my price range but I'm reading some good and some bad reviews. Please give tell me what you liked/disliked? How did it handle rough water, overall ride and was it a good platform to fish out of? Thanks

I bought my 07 Z20 new in april 08, love it. I have fished in a lot of other boats, to me this one fishes better than any I have been in. As for speed, I can get 68-69 gps, with two people tournament load. It handles rough water very well. I have been on Rayburn, Toledo Bend and it handles it well. the z20 has a larger back deck than most boats. I picked this boat, as my wife fishes with me a lot. And she liked it. The Z21 handles the rough even better. I like it so much, that instead of buying a new boat last year, I repowered with a new merc. The only thing I am not in love with is the compartment latches. but that is minor Some will say they ride rough, you just have to learn to drive it. All boats drive and handle differently, not bashing any other brand. Hope this helps you.

Owned a 08 Z21 for 7 years. The fishing platform is like every other Ranger, rock solid! The compartment lids had those pop up hinges, not the stainless handles. They worked well, but many people didn't like them. The ride is also like any other Ranger, nose down and rough. Been on plenty of "big" waters, 1-4' rollers and it always felt the same, pretty rough compared to other boats. The boat was gorgeous, built solid, and the warranty with ranger is great(if you get it).

I guess I am lucky as I haven't had to use the warranty, my boat has held up, not rough riding either.

Z520 Rangers are the roughest riding boats I have ever been in. And yes, I do own one... a 2014 Z520 with a 250 Mercury. I guess if you own, or are sponsored by a chiropractor you'd be fine, lol.

Every Ranger Z boat owner I have ever met will overlook all the shortcomings of the boat to tell you how great Rangers are. Its a I own one so they have to be the greatest thing. Now I will say I don't own one but have fished 100's of hours out of my fishing partners Z boat. My take on his Z21
is that from the boat ramp to the fishing spot is that it is one of the worst boats I have ever been in. When that boat stops and the fishing begins it is the best fishing platform I have been on. If you are considering buying one then take it to the lake, find out for your self if its what you want to spend your money on.

Yep seems like the majority of people are agreeing on the ride, pretty rough. It's a fishing machine though, with the trolling motor down! I used to joke and say it would take the titanic passing to make it move. I never had to use the warranty on major things, but when you fish from the west coast in 120 degree weather to the east cost in 100 degree humid weather, the glue doesn't hold up on the console plates, and the "comanche" letters on the console would fall off too. Ranger always replaced them free of charge no questions asked!
