...anywhere in the U.S., what would you consider the premier freshwater fishery (reservoir) to be, for a variety of species?

Here Lake Tawakoni.Tops in everything except largemouth bass.
There are bass in there,just hard to get.

Lake LBJ...i'm here now...fixin' 2 attack the sand bass...fisht boat doks ystrdy and caught sum monster perch, a 14" crappie, and a spot...lake is not crowded during the week...very peaceful place

I am sure there are several better options but I am building on Texoma, big, beautiful, lots of fish and my people are all within 90 minutes of me.

North East Texas. Lots of bank fishing plus the big lakes, and lots of trees. Good hunting as well. And the soil will grow anything.

San Antonio. Reasonably close to; Calaveras, Braunig, Medina, Canyon lake, Choke Canyon, Mathis and others. That has to be the best spot for a fisherman to reside, and the aforementioned waters (most of them) hold just about any kind of fish you can think of. Even the Coastal waters aren't too far off. Outside f Texas, South Carolina, somewhere on the Santee Cooper system.
