 Lewisville Fishing barge..?

Went to the fishing barge at Lake Park yesterday, and noticed something interesting... some gentlemen were SLAYING the crappie in the cracks of the barge. I tried using minnows inside and around the barge to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions about actually catching fish at Lake park and the fishing barge?
