Price depends on coverage...whether it is replacement value or agreed value. how much liablity ..etc..etc...I dont pay that much , I pay an annual premium but it is about $400 per year ...roughly half of what you are paying..I have an 08 Bass Cat Puma..got my quotes and policy from :

You can find him here on the forum in the Insurance 101 under the boat section...great guy that understands coverage and boats and fishing...never had a claim but from other reports I feel like he is a stand up guy and agent.

Call Bob at Worldwide Marine. Best coverage for a very fair price. Plenty of praises about him in the subforum linked above.

Thanks. I will check into it. I was paying about 50$ a month. My coverage was canceled because of non-payment (they messed up on my payment info when I called to update my account info). Some bank stuff was changed. Long story short I had it reinstated, but @ 75$ a month. When I asked why the increase I was told because my boat had a top speed of 76mph. my boat will only run 64mph on a perfect day!!! I tried to argue with them unsuccessfully! Its just a bunch of [censored] in my opinion!!! 25$ more a month is just a big jump in my opinion!

I just shopped for new boat insurance, I ended up here:
I would also suggest asking for "agreed to" value.

I use Geico, their marine company. New boat with extra content coverage and expanded liability run me $62 a month or $750 a year. Lately boat insurance seems to be in the business of how they can get out of a claims.

I always call world wide on each boat, but they have consistently been the highest quote I have received.

I went with Worldwide.

24' Sportsman Master CC, 250 hp Yamaha, Onix 10, trolling motor and trailer. Full replacement coverage and I'm not even close to paying $50 a month.

You might try this company. They were the best price I found for my Harley. About half what the others wanted even when I lumped it into all the other vehicles I own.

I'm with Worldwide too. My 2013 Xpress XP18CC is covered for anything practical that could or might happen, and my coverage costs about $250 per year. At that rate, and knowing I have a stand up guy in my corner if I ever had to file a claim, the $250 a year is a small price to pay.
