I voted yes to all but Prop 5. Prop 1 is important to seniors by raising the homestead exemption.
Prop 6 is the right to hunt and fish.

Look in the bass section, I wrote what I believe.....bottom line is vote Yes, but with reservations about that "subject to..." part.

ChuChu,

Why would you think lowering taxes for the age group cohort (those 65 and older) which is the wealthiest in terms of net worth, and has at least comparable incomes to younger homeowners, that we should ask the relatively poorer age groups to pay more taxes?

Talk about a regressive tax break!

Brad

Last I saw, Prop 6 was winning with over 90% voting for passage.

Makes it a constitutional right instead of just a law!

Most seniors MAY have a higher net worth than younger folks, but they are also on fixed incomes that are definitely not keeping up with inflation. Also their Medicare, Medicaid payments are increasing with obicare and benefits are reducing. With the increase in medical needs as they get older, more of their "net worth" is spent trying to survive the ravages of old age. They have worked 90% of their lives to raise kids and grandkids, and save a little to enjoy not having to work when they are physically unable. I see a lot of seniors sitting at home, watching their "net worth" decrease each year, and worrying about the future and uncertainty of whether they will have anything left at all to live on, or pass down, before they pass on.I believe seniors deserve at least one tax break so they can still go see the grandkids a couple of times a year, or the Grand Canyon. IMHO
