It does not go over the spillway but once in a very great while. But I have been told when it does go over the spillway you want to be fishing there.

Its gone over only 3 times in the history of the lake. Once in 50 first time. I was there for 2nd time in early 90. The 3rd time was not much as far as water going over. You can not fish any where around the spillway or damn. On Sunday that the water went over that I was there they (state troopers) would not even let you stop. You had go into Oklahoma to get to the damn due to high water washing out part of the road on Texas side. If it goes over it is a site to see.

I saw it go over in the early 90's. If I can remember that far back correctly, I think we were able to get out of our cars and watch it go over. It was pretty impressive.
Those were the days. Even when the flood gates weren't open, they were generating enough to always have good fishing below the dam.

I think it was the first day it went over you could not stop to much traffic. My cuz was state trooper he told me to wait come next day so I could stop.
