I've had a dock owner show up with his kids while I was fishing his lights. He didn't have to throw a lure at me, I went ahead and moved on along. The dock owner only has a small stretch of lake to fish, let him have it and come back later if you really have to fish that spot, especially if they are with their kids. Not only that, he was nice enough to put out a light/structure for anyone to fish so give the guy a break and come back another time. I used to fish from the bank before I had a boat and I can't explain to you how irritating it is to be bank fishing on the 20 yrds or so of bank you have access to and have a boat pull up and throw in the same spot. Boats have the whole lake, bankers don't, just move on to another spot.

plenty of water to fish, no need to fire lures at boats. On top of that I am guessing the best fishing it not 2' from a boat with a top water lure. If that dock owner wanted to fish there he could have spoke with the boater like a man instead of throwing lures like a little kid.

OP, I wouldnt worry about old EZ, he seems like a know it all idiot anyways...I bet he use to get picked on a lot in school

Wrong, just as you are wrong in your conclusions in your post. I was big in sports, especially football and very popular in school. But I admit I was not one of the "dumb" jocks who had to be tutored to get their "D's" but found it very easy to earn my "A's" and still be in sports. So I probably would not have been popular with your crowd. smile

If you actually read my posts you would have understood I stated it was wrong for everybody to toss lures near other peoples boats. It was wrong for this dock owner to do this, just as it is wrong for all those in boats who toss their lures next to boats in slips.

You did get one thing right. There is plenty of water to fish without tossing your lures near boats. So please stop tossing your lures near boats that are anchored in their slips and all will be happy.

if you live on a lake and have a dock you know what your getting into. Its like a person that lives on a golf course complaining about a broken window from time to time...THEY KNEW THAT WAS POSSIBLE.

take all these California people moving to Austin...they buy up condos downtown in the live music capitol of the world, then complain because of the noise level.

on another note...you just bragged on a forum about how cool you were in high school rolfmao

I was VERTCIALLY fishing a sunken light that was over 15 yards from the dock. We never once casted towards the dock or slip. There was no one fishing when we arrived and after the owner turned on the lights I immediately hit the trolling motor to head to the next spot. That's when his first cast was deliberately thrown at my boat. How was I in the wrong? Next time I will try add more detail to avoid the assumptions and over-generalizations.

So you are stating bad conduct is to be accepted because everybody acts bad so it should be expected? I heard that a lot in my career, from individuals trying to justify what they had done. rolfmao

No, I stated I did not get picked on all the time in school as you stated. And give you the facts to back it up as I knew it would be challenged if I did not.

And yes, if I wanted to brag, I do have a lot to brag about in my life. I have achieved things that I can be proud I have done.

elliott does have a good point though. The slip owner should have asked politely if they could move so that they could fish there.
True, the slip is sorrounded by water... but the boat can go anywhere... well, I guess the guy who has the slip probably has a boat and can go elsewhere if he wanted, but shouldnt have to. Ask politely and you never know. I mean, I ask questions all the time... Im probably the best question asker in the world, not to brag or anything
hahahaha
