Had a fun day today on sandlin. We decided to get out and enjoy the nice weather and fish a while. I wanted to teach her to sight fish a little and she did manage to get the first two we found off beds. Then after a long day of teaching pre-schoolers and dealing with some realestate calls she let me know real quick that some days are unteachable days for here and she just wanted to fun fish. That means shut up and let me do my thing and stop telling me where to throw lol. I was just looking for bed fish and she caught several more just fishing down the bank. We get close to the back of a creek and she throws out in the middle of this little gut thats about 5 feet in the middle. She gets a bite and tell me shes got one and Its not pulling real hard so I didnt think much about it until the line passes the trolling moter about a hundred mph because the fish is headed for deep water and she hasnt caught up to it yet. When she did catch up the fish made a hard run and almost drug her out of the boat but she leaned back and was realling like a mad woman so the fish jumped all the way out of the water end over end and i freaked out. I got more worked up than she did. Long story short after 3 beautiful but gut wrentching jumps she landed the fish and I got it in the net and the hook fell out. My hands were shaking and she looks at me and says "Dillon calm down its not were in a tournament today." lol Ice in them viens I swear lmao.
