Just made these for a friend of mine, I just need to finish off the tops with reflective tape, pretty much like the diagram that was posted above, I use rebar for the slide and I have rubber solid disks on each end of the PVC to protect the caps, I haven't jugged in a year or so but I had fun chasing those things when I did, kids had even more fun.

Cool, and Cool! I'll have to make some of those, if I really get into it! right now, I'm just beginning. But next step: Falcon! (in between Bass fishing). check out the Falcon Lake Tackle website for pics of the gar that TP&W got.

was talking about jugs the other day with a friend, he said mine are a waste of money, all you need is a bleach jug. When I showed him how I make them & how I can get over 20 of mine in two milk crates but 20 of his would completely fill his boat, he started singing a different tune.

Yep, they are a lot easier to transport than a boat full of bottles and you can punch your hook in the top foam when you are ready to put away if you'd like, I always used heavy duty swivels so I could detach them to store away, another cool tip is you can get a glow stick and zip tie them to the top when night fishing this way you can keep an eye on them and also night time boaters can see them so they don't run over them and get em tangled in there prop, many of times at night I've seen boaters running wide open spot them and adjust there path so they wouldn't run over them.

yeah the noodles are superior to bleach jugs in just about every way in my opinion, take up less space, easy to wind up line and stick hook in foam, they stand up when fish is on easy to know you have on...etc ...and some good news, as of this coming sept 1, they dont have to be white anymore. they can be any color but orange. so homemade ones will be much easier to make than before...because white noodles seem to be next to impossible to find.

Man that will be awesome. Do you have a link or can direct me to where I can read that? I will stock up on yellow pool noodles if this is true.

Most common weight is a brick, some people make there own lead weights in a can, if you are going to leave overnight or going to fish elsewhere and then cone back to check them then make sure the weight is heavy enough for the fish to not swim off with them. I always stayed with my jugs so I used a five ounce weight and we would let the kids chase em down, this is alot of fun but you have to make sure that your not fishing around timber so they don't get hung up and lost.

Not hijacking your post but also have a question , it seems I catch most on the small fish that hit 5-6 lbs......but when a big one is on. Just when you pick up the line, about the time you see him he comes unbuttoned...........PVC with floaties with 2 hooks varying depths, 1 oz weight . Also it seems the bigger ones drag over to shallower water around 8-10' and sit on the bottom gaining slack in the line. Suggestions on a cure ??

What type of hooks are you using, I use circle hooks and they do the job pretty good

Might try a heavier weight so it helps the hook set a little better

That's kinda what I was thinking. Didn't know if I needed more weight or more resistance up top. Thanks ill try that and see what happens. Most of the smaller ones are hooked good, so I couldn't figure it out.

Same here, plus 24 weights that I made pouring tile grout into 4 oz Lily cups.
