Just back from a 2 day trip to Caddo. Fishing was tough, the lake had come up a foot from the 10 inches of rain last week. Caught a few, including a new species for me from kayak. Didn't really care as you could sit in one place and take pictures in every direction. Its even better than advertised. thumb The only way I could have been more impressed is if I'd seen Bigfoot! rolfmao

I'm a sucker for checking out duck blinds. When I spotted this one from half mile away I had to get a better look. It looked like Fort Knox in Spanish Moss when I first saw it.

Nice pics. I worked at Caddo Lake State Park for 5 years. I have very fond memories of that place.

As a park ranger, I conducted numerous fishing clinics and canoe trips for park visitors. It was always a mixed bag when it came to catching fish. That fish is a Chain Pickerel. a member of the pike family. They always tore up my soft plastics with those teeth.

Me and my buddy have hunted from that blind. Did pretty good during early teal season and even better on woodys later during big duck season.

My signature pic is of my boat at the ramp in the WMA

Too cool. I have been wanting to get up there. We had pickerel in some of our lakes in N. Alabama and Middle Tennessee. I didn't realize there am was anyplace in TX where you could catch them.

Awesome photos! This lake is on my list for 2014. See any gators?

Also, I'd love to share some of those photos on River Ratz if you don't mind.

Any pics I ever post are always available to anyone that likes them. cheers No gators but I was sure looking for them. Hard to get any pics of birdlife there as they were hard to sneak up on in the thick wooded areas and spooked easily. The sounds out there were incredible with the woodpeckers, loons, and owls all making their calls at the same time.

I was really impressed with the park and the view from canoe launch and camping areas. thumb Saw and spoke to lots of folks that were having a great time and were really wowed by the sights and sounds.

Thanks for the pics Louis. They are awesome. Knowing you as I do, I bet you put in plenty of miles in that kayak seat on that trip. Hope you didn't lip that pickerel.
