We are headed to Clear Lake in June for a guided trip. Wanted to do a little more fishing besides that. Any tips as far as jetties, flats.....we can access with no boat? Want to keep it within 30 or so minutes around the Kemah, seabrooke, League City area. Thanks a ton.

Seabrook flats can have some fish as long as the bait is holding there, usually a better late fall area, but can hold a few fish all year. I like the South jetty if you have a light north, ne, or east wind that time of year. Good thing about the jetty is that you can move in and out of depth and look for the fish. It holds a lot fish on that rock structure and also intercepts the 2nd and 3rd bars... the best of both worlds. If the wind is south or west hit the north jetty.

.....in June I'd also recommend the Kemah Flats area, as well as wading the shoreline a little farther down in the Bacliff/San Leon area. The gut between the shoreline and the oyster reefs at Eagle Point will usually hold fish on a moving tide that time of year as well. You can also take a short drive down 146 to the Bayou Vista feeder road South of the freeway and look for tailing Reds in the salt marsh between the railroad tracks and the feeder road. Look for them or some nervous bait with your binocs and then wade in to intercept them.
